การแบ่งระยะของโรค
การแบ่งระยะของโรคในเนื้องอกในโพรงกระโหลกศีรษะ บริเวณ supratentorium และใน ไขสันหลัง ไม่นิยมใช้กันมากนัก เพราะไม่ได้มีผลต่อพยากรณ์ของโรคอย่างชัดเจนนัก
ส่วนเนื้องอกในโพรงกระโหลกศีรษะ บริเวณ infratentorium มีการใช้ระบบการแบ่งระยะของโรคอย่างแพร่หลายดังนี้คือ
T1 : tumor < 3 cm.
T2 : tumor > 3 cm.
T3-A : invade 2 adjacent structure or completely fill fourth ventricle และมี extension ไป
ยัง aqueduct of sylvius, foramen of Megendie, or foramen of Luschka
T4 : tumor invole third ventricle or midbrain or extend to upper cervical cord
MO : No evidence of gross subarachbnoid or hematogenous metastasis
M1 : Microscopic tumor found in cerebrospinal fluid
M2 : Gross nodular seedings disseminated in the cerebellar, cerebral subarachoid
space, or in the third or lateral ventricles
M3 : Gross nodular seeding in spinal subarachnoid space
M4 : Metastasis outside the cerebrospinal axis
